We were acting as guides for a couple we met in Colima and really just wanted to see Comala and a few good views of the volcano. The coffee activity is easy to miss if you are not there for the season which is now. We only went as far as Lago Maria but the coffee is growing all around the lake. The woman that runs the little store at the resort is a member of one of two Ejidos in the area that pick and sell the coffee. She'll also tell you about the relocation (attempted) of the pueblo of Yerba Buena due to it's proximity to the volcano.
