Has anyone grabbed a local service guy to report phone problems. My phone line and DSL is so bad I can´t use the phone and internet is on and off regularly.

I may have to borrow a phone to call in this problem

Just call 050 to report it. They usually have someone out the next day. The guys on the street aren't supposed to work without a workorder generated by Telmex.

I thought maybe they could report it since our phone doesn't work.

Do you know if that's an automated system. I called, got one ring and heard nothing more

I always speak with a real person when I call that #. If you'd like, I can report it for you. Just give me the # and name on the bill and address, and I can make the call. Also nature of the problem (static, no dial tone, etc)

Thanks ... I'm going to try from Shoe's house in a little bit. Silvia should be there to help with the Spanish if it gets too complicated.

Turns out it's Day of the Dead and Telmex is dead. Tomorrow is 'puente' to the weekend so I'll have to wait until Monday

Finally got thru to Telmex about 11 today after 10+ trys .... and the very nice tech said it was a server problem and would take 3 days to fix. I had also called the 050 number for general repairs earlier in the morning and a Telmex truck showed up around noon. Great guy! He said it was a switch or modem problem in the Melaque office. After going thru all our phone lines and phones .... he went down the the central office, fixed the problem and came back to check how things were.

He said .... wave him or another tech down in the streets ... even for internet problems ... if you want to save some time.
