Posting fotos is easy if they exist on the internet (that above is on the Google site). No message boards will let you upload pictures because it takes space. The way to do it is get your own web site (there are free ones like Yahoo) or Foto Library sites like Yahoo http://photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos ... or many, many more. Also try to reduce any fotos to less than 50k so they will load in a reasonable amount of time.

OK, I went to Yahoo and opened an album, uploaded a few pics and came back here and tried to figure how to transfer.....i must be a complete computer dummy, do you have a manual? Maybe this is why you are one of the few who posts pictures.......i am dammed i am gonna figure this out! Hints are appreciated though.

We had a Links and Photos section awhile back but nobody was using it. There was a long conversation about people trying to post a photo and what sites are best for that. I forgot Yahoo is not one of them and should edit the above post. For the life of me I can't remember which sites a few people were using. Shoe and/or Pedro might remember if they read this.

Thanks Shoe

Flicker was one we were using. Here's one of my photos I found there by searching Melaque

http://static.flickr.com/35/98741307_b1a081f850.jpg

Image

First you go to the picture
http://www.flickr.com/photos/73657392@N00/98741307/

Then to "All Sizes"
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=98741307&size=o

There you can pick the best size to post

Right click on the picture and a box should popup, click on properties (on the bottom) and there you should see a link behind "address". That is what you copy and paste onto the message board (note it has to end in .JPG/.GIF or it's not a photo)

Then if you highlight the link here .. and click on IMG in the tool bar .. it should get enclosed in IMG and /IMG brackets

You fotos have to exist on the internet .... they can't be uploaded.

Just post a link to your album or links to individual fotos if nothing else

I used http://www.pix8.net/aboutus.php for the photos I put in the Real Estate Forum here. It's easy and best of all ...FREE! Once you register and upload your photos, click on the "get code" button then highlight and copy the "UBB" code, not the html code.

This can then be pasted in your forum message and voila.

You may want to resize or crop your pictures first using an image program. The ones that come with your Windows Program are good enough for the basics. If you want more options to edit your pictures, go to http://www.downloads.com and choose from the many free programs.
