Costalegre Jalisco Mexico

We drove in for a day from Patzcuaro even though I was not all that enthused about entering a big city by car and with so little time. We must have beat most of the traffic at 10am so it was not that bad. We spent a couple hours at the Palacio del Artesanias including lunch. I was disappointed that they did not display where things were made and actually had very little in public areas. The gift shop downstairs had nice (and expensive) items but very little info on their origin. The shops upstairs with names of little towns sold just about whatever they wanted including things from China. The rest of the day we just walked around the central area enjoying the architecture and busy street scenes.

After all these years ... I'll have to agree with the lawyer lady from Texas at the old MexConnect who raved about Morelia. Don't get me wrong I still get the 'geebees' in my stomach when I think about her obnoxiousness ... but Morelia looks gorgeous.
