Well I wouldn't have thought of visiting those metal boxes today because it's mid week and it's hot as hell. However I got an email from a writer at http://www.bobvila.com/ asking to use one of the fotos and write a paragraph about this project. Probably not much detail but the idea that it's in Mexico adds a little spice to the piece.

Anyway, I asked Terry and he has no problem and it was my foto ... so we can check the site and maybe see something in the next few months

I just re-read the email and the article will be on the Bob Villa Blog rather than the main site - http://www.bobvila.com/OnTheLevel/

What a cool way to build on such a demanding piece of land. I was looking at those lots last year and difficult terrain was one on the reasons that I didn’t purchase. I hope that you are going to have an open house sometime this winter, so that we can get a look at your clever and inventive engineering.

Walterinbaja when ever you are in the area just stop by. We will be more than happy to give you a tour.

We were the same about the lots in this area. Just loved the view, but the cost was to much to build. Then we can up with this idea, or concept. We will stucco the bottom container this next week, or I should say hope to get it stucco completed.

Most of the ideas came from us on the building idea. You should start seeing a big progross from here on.

Look forward to meeting you.

Terry

These aren't the best fotos to show off the stucco work but will keep track as it moves along. They gave up on pouring into plywood forms and are doing it the old fashioned way which means about 3 coats to fill the corrugation.

I tried to get a look today but the road doesn't exist. There is a new trail thru the brush on the side but I didn't want to try it with a car full of kids. I may have to walk up next week

I ran into a guy building with small containers in Roatan. What was interesting was his use of foam for siding. He glues it up and stucco's over. It would give you extra insulation and a flat surface. I'm not sure I'd want to rely on glue only. He sent these fotos

Lets start another thread on how this house gets finished inside and out. We're getting fragmented here
