On Sunday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. Tierralegre (a newly-formed nonprofit organization) is hosting a fundraiser dinner and live music event at Lisa Matchette´s house on the hill. Van shuttles begin at 5:00 p.m. from El Girasol Bistro. Parking spaces are limited at Lisa´s house, so please consider taking the shuttle, or walking.

The event will feature live music from the funky Colima Jazz Trio, Djangproject. Dinner, dessert, and one drink will be catered by El Girasol Bistro´s chef, Linda, with help from culinary artiste, Eileen Zach. There will also be a beer, wine, and margarita bar.

All proceeds from the event will go towards La Manzanilla Recycling Program and toward the sea turtle conservation and permaculture project at the University of Guadalajara´s La Gloria research station on the Costalegre. The majority of the Board of Directors, who work for the U de G´s Center for the Sustainable Development of Coastal Zones in Melaque, will be present at the event. Please come out and show your support for conservation of the Costalegre, meet the Board, and learn more about Tierralegre.

Tickets, which cost $500 pesos, can be purchased at the following locations in town: El Girasol Bistro, Restaurant Martin´s, Palapa Joes, The Quetzal, Café de Flores, Coco Loco, Lora Loka´s, Yolanda´s, Costalegre Properties, Santana Real Estate, and at Dorthy Rutherford´s annual garage sale on Saturday, December 8 (start at 10:00).
