Hi Sparks,

Well, the band was set up. We took Artemis for a walk to check things out and we were at the Zocalo around 10:15 PM and stayed around until about 11:10 - no action. They did some sound checks during the time we were there. Handful of gringos - no audience - place was dead - obviously not enough advertising/or interest.

About 20+ Mexican teenagers/teenies/kids hanging around the benches - waiting for the band to play and throwing rocks at each other (little ones...) for entertainment.

We left - 'cause the doggie wanted to go home AND I actually got CHILLY!

I don't think they played tonite (we would have heard it from Shoe's house and would have gone back). The Villa Obregon plaza was empty.

Melaque plaza around 8-9 PM was sorta busy - we walked up there and back.

I think with the arriving Christmas vacation crowd this band would have gotten a much better audience in the San Patricio/Melaque area. I'm going to bed - heck - I'm beginning to feel like an old person - and we are used to party-ing with the 20's and up crowd in Colorado Springs/Denver until we came down here.

If I can talk Vern into NOT leaving until January - we'll try to see what the Golden Ganja band is like.

COLORADO - this time of year - NOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYY -
hubby says - we gotta go.......some time soon....

I think I will have to come up with a pseudo sickness that Ernesto cannot cure so I have to stay longer (just kidding).

Still working on alternative dates

Elke

Oh well ... we didn't make it either. Guess these new-age bands are just not going to make it in this area. The $100 peso cover didn't help either.

Elke ... it's not going to be warmer up north in January so might as well work on the moving

Yeah - looks like we are leaving first thing in the morning. The trailer is finally totally unloaded, everything is stored at Shoe's. Not really looking forward to this trip back up to the frozen North!

I got to go to the Golden Ganga band and they did start a little late waiting for people to come in, but by 9:30 or 10 it was fully going and was awsome.. a talented band with a great feel. I really enjoy being at the Oasis, there is great people and great food.

I think they've been there a couple of time in the last month, no? I always get side tracked or find it my bed time.

We did see Mike, Bill and the usual Barra drummer on their last night about a month ago.
