I am coming to Manzanillo in February and spending a week in the house of a friend. After that, we would like to go to Las Trocones for a week. But getting there? I would rather go by car than all the way to Ixtapa by bus. Especially since the bus doesn't leave until 10:30 a.m. and doesn't get into Ixtapa until late evening. But renting a car would require us to pay a huge "drop off" fee since we want to fly back to California out of Zihuatanejo. My next thought was to hire a driver. Is this a reasonalbe option? It seems as if paying the driver and the gas would be cheaper than renting a car and more fun (we could stop on the way) than a bus. But, how would we find a reliable driver with a reliable car? Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate some help! Cdubee

Location: Manzanillo
Bus: My May 15th pictures of the schedules at Manzanillo's main bus terminal show buses leaving for Zihuatenejo at 6:30 a.m. 6:30 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. Of course, schedules are subject to change.

Hiring a driver: You might try negotiating with a taxi driver after you get here. There are a couple of tour companies that advertise on the internet but I have no first hand experience with them. Not sure what sort of luck you will have trying to book this far in advance.

If none of that helps, we have a neighbour who does tours & who speaks English. Email me if you want his phone number.
