Whichever mini splits you purchase, here are a few of things that you might want to keep in mind. Buy those with the highest SEER value (seasonal energy efficiency rating) that you can. Three years ago most (in Mexico) were rated 10. The difference between a rating of 10 and a rating of 12 is a 20% saving in electrical consumption...a 14 is a 40% saving etc. Highest SEER value currently available is a 17 (I think).
You may also want to get a minisplit that has a dehumidify setting. That is the one that we use all the time. It's not the temperature that's uncomfortable...it's the freaking humidity! It is also an energy saving setting since it actually shuts off!
If your doors and windows aren't reasonably well sealed when shut, you're throwing your money away. Get them serviced once a year (in the spring) and keep your filters clean. Then it is unlikely that there will be a breakdown when you need them most.
Keep cool!
